Jeanne Richardson and I never went out, but for ten minutes (when she was in 7th grade and I was a year or two older) we were an item in Mr. George’s afternoon art class.
During our later high-school years, we both painted and lettered signs for local biz during the summers.
If it looks like I’m name-dropping, you’ve got that right.
Jeanne is now a singer-songerwriter in Nashville and this song written by her and Karleen Watt (among other gems on her YouTube channel) proves she deserves a great big ol’ audience.
“World Famous,” about being sorta-kinda-well known, and how the folks back home view that, really registered with me –especially…well, being from her home town.
Listen to it a couple times and hear the lyrics. It’s terrific!
Tres cool, man!
Great song and a bittersweet sentiment. Thanks.
